Aside from providing a focal point on the web, DynmamicRidesharing.org also aims to coordinate and direct real world activities - toward reduce single occupancy vehicles by organising independent knowledge and support for dynamic ride sharing.

A number of real-world projects are underway at DynamicRidesharing.org, including:

ShareRide; design and execute a market study to understand 'what it takes to get people to share their car', that can be applied in any new market segment or geography.

EcoShare; field trial study of upto 100 drivers to understand the effect of price incentives on sharing.

SafeRide Security: the Mobile Chaperone; research proposal for "a series of structured interviews to determine the desirability of proposed security designs and the security and privacy attitudes of the target population." The proposal has been funded.
